*Confused by the kind of trance he had gone into. Cass turns to Zharid and shrugs.*

Zharid shrugged. "I don't mind if you come along. Another pair of eyes wouldn't hurt."
Zharid sized up Tevok. He came from the desert, so he must have some way to protect himself from the heat, but he didn't look like Nyiadu's race and he certainly was not from Zharid's; unless a lot has happened since he last seen them. Always more questions, never more answers. He thought to himself.
Zharid looked up at the sky. It wasn't quite midday yet. He sighed inwardly at the lost time. "We should get moving. We have to cover a lot of ground today. It will take us all day and maybe some night to get past the first stretch of desert. There is more than one creature that would be quite happy to eat us and not all of them sleep at night. It is essential to get well out of their territory before we stop." He explained.

*Cass raises both eyebrows*
I ain't sure I exactly have a desire to meet them there creatures.
*Frowns and wishes she had a better weapon to protect herself with.*

Zharid led the group into the desert. They walked for a few hours before encountering a cart; presumably used by a travelling merchant. He looked it over before walking back to where the others were waiting.
"Looks like the driver of this thing fell prey to one of the resident carnivores in the area. I didn't see anything too interesting in there, but you guys are welcome to take a look to see if there's anything you need; just don't look too hard in front of the cart if you're squeamish." Zharid told them.

*Cass chews on the inside of her lip slightly. She knows she is not going in the front...but also she feels kind of bad about snooping around. Cass shrugs it off she figures that her conscience is just trying to get the best of her.
Cass pokes her head into the back of the cart, something seems out of place in it. She looks closer and notices a newer piece of wood. Cass slips her fingers into the groove of the wood piece and pulls lightly. The wood piece comes out very simply and has a large area to store things. But there was only one thing that caught her attention. That was the long scimitar hidden inside there.
Cass slowly reached for it...it was as if she 'knew' this scimitar...like she used it before. She slowly picked it up and put it right in front of her eyes as she got out of the cart and walked away from it. There were some kind of engravings on the scimitar. It was glowing slightly as she looked at it even though Cass did not notice. Something was all too familiar with this scimitar...and Cass wanted to figure out what.*

Zharid examined the corpse. It was one of Nyiadu's; though he didn't need to inspect it to know that. His kind didn't trade and the races from the other regions wouldn't survive here. He couldn't tell what attacked the merchant, but it apparently didn't find human very tasty, or at the very least, found the creatures he used to haul the cart to be a better meal.
Zharid knelt down beside the corpse and touched it. It instantly ignited into a small, concentrated flame that consumed the body within a minute. "Winds carry you to peace." He told the ashes. It was his kind's funeral ritual, though he decided that the merchant would forgive him for not knowing the other culture's rituals.
Once he finished he walked over to where Cass was standing. He saw the weapon she was holding. "Nice find." He commented. "We should get going, whatever got him might be hungry again by now."
He began to walk away from the abandoned cart when he heard a loud screech. He stopped instantly and looked up. In the distance there was a massive black bird flying in their direction.
"Too late." Zharid muttered. He looked over at the rest of the group. "We're going to have to stand and defend ourselves. That's a Sviaak, sometimes called a desert banshee due to the noise it makes. That thing flies faster than we could ever hope to run."

*Cass's eye widen to the point where they appear they are going to pop out of her head. Grips her scimitar trying to stay calm.*
uhhhhhh...any ideas on that there things weaknesses?
*Swallows and watches the hideousley giant bird come closer.*
((I figure you have an idea of how you want your creation/monster to act and react.))

"Go for it's stomach, if you can." Zharid told them.
He walked until there was some distance between himself and the rest of the group and pulled out his twin katars. He looked up and saw that the Sviaak was nearly on them now. It let out another screech that was nearly deafening this close. Zharid emulated the noise with an illusion to make the creature think he was trying to take it's territory. The Sviaak took the bait and dived straight at him. Zharid held his position until the last moment and leapt out of the way of it's beak. He stabbed out at the bird with one of his katars, but it only cut a long, shallow gash along it's side.

Tevok rushes over to help...pulls out the broadsword from its sheath on his back and waits for the bird to return. He concentrates real hard on the bird. Suddenly he realizes that his sword is glowing a blood red. Tevok sees the Sviaak return, takes a swing but only realizes that he doesnt have good control over his sword fighting abibities. Tevok notices the smell of burning flesh. There is another gash about half the size of Zharid's on the other side of the birds chest. "Cass, it's up to you..."
Tevok notices a sall cut on his left arm from where the bird's talon caught it. He covers it p slowly, wondering if either of the two saw it. Embarassed about how he could have tried to do something he knew he wouldn't be able to control, he really hoped that neither of them saw the cut. He felt warm again all over. His sword burning even brighter than before. He lost all control of his body. He could see and feel that he was standing thre, but HE couldn't move!! As Tevok stands there watching the other two, he could sense another presence or personality taking control. He could hear himself say." Cass!! Jab your scimitar straight into the birds chest and move right!!" Staring confused, he watches Cass...

*Cass raised both eyebrows and nodded. The Sviaak was swooping back around now, to get a better attack position on her. As the Sviaak swooped in closer and closer, Cass couldn't think of how terrified she was. Her body seemed to move for her with an unkown grace. With one swift move as the Sviaak almost had Cass in its talons she jammed the scimitar just below the rib cage and pulled down. Cass quickly dropped down and rolled right as Tevok asked. When she got her breathe she realized she was still holding the scimitar. Cass had no clue how she had known exactly how to hold her weapon, or even when to attack. She just knew she had.*

Zharid watched as the Sviaak collapsed to the ground. He circled it from a distance to make sure that it was completely dead. Once he was sure he addressed the other two. "That was quite an impressive display. Good to see you two know your stuff."
Zharid walked over to the creature and stuck his hand into the wound. His hand came out covered in blood. He wiped some of the blood on his shoulder. He walked over to cass and did the same to her. "While this is gross and smells bad to boot, the scent of Sviaak blood on us will make the rest of the predators in the area wary of us." He explained. "You should probably do the same Tevok."
He looked up at the sun. It was late evening now. "If you two want, we could probably take shelter in the cart tonight. The blood should keep stuff at bay. If you want to keep going, the closest safe area to stop would take us some of the night of continuous walking to get there." Zharid told them.

*Cass wrinkles her nose up at the blood no longer worrying about how she knew what to do with the scimitar. Looks at Zharid.*

alexander gets up and yawns "oh crap i must have fallen asleep" he thought, right afterwards the old man lept to the door and slung it open, but saw no one "damnit they must have already met and left, damn this human from it only makes me tired and weak, but i guess i have to keep my disguise, now where did those three go?" alexander rushes over to a crystal ball that is sitting in the back room of his farmhouse. alexander runs his hands over the ball and an image comes into his veiw, a woman killing a huge bird and two men helping her, he recognized them right off, the triphlagna, doom of his peoples conquest, and he let them get away. "damn now i have to do things the hard way, and face the queens scolding. "might as well take it now" the old man takes a dagger from one of his robes and cuts a gash down the palm of his hand, he holds up his hand and the blood drips down from it, only before hitting the ground it catches into flame, until a sizable fire was floating in front of him, only it had an opening in the middle. the old man takes a peice of parchment and a pen and writes something quikly down and tosses it through the hole in the flames. afterwards he waves his hand infront of it and the flames dissapear. after that he goes out near the entrance of the farmhouse and grabs a strange looking horn, then runs out the front door and blows the horn into the open, an ominous booming sound comes out of the horn then he tosses the horn to the ground. three huge spider-like creatures quickly rush from the forest near the farm with a supernatural speed and go straight in front of alexander and stand at attetion. the huge ugly creatures resembled scorpions in a way, but stood on only four back legs, the other two up in front with large sharp claws, and their mouths were wide with a huge sharp gripper on the front, each one of them stood about 20 feet tall. "you three need to hunt the triphlagna, they are in the southlands, you can track their scents from here" alexander's eyes twitch with irratance while the things stood there looking at him "what are you waiting for you lumbering beasts? after them! and bring them back alive if you can" the three huge creatures take off towards the south at a speed faster than a galloping horse, following the footprints of the three others closely. alexander watches the three creatures closely, and a light, but menacing smile cracks the lips across his face "ill be suprised if the triphalga can handle them"

Still in his state of mind, Tevok takes a step over to the Sviaak and stares at it for a moment. "I think i will pass on the blood. It will do me no good. Cass has a good suggestion. Maybe we should stay here tonight. If the blood will keep things at bay, then staying here would be a good choice. Even tho there might be creatures brave enough to wonder over, i am pretty sure one of us could stand watch for the night." Tevok looks at Cass and sees that she looks extreamly tired. He looks at Zharid, "It would have to be one of us. I'll be more than happy to do it if you dont want. I could stay up all night if needed."
...who is this person talking? it cant be me..could it? apparently it is. but i dont know who this part of me is. it is like i know who this part of me is, but i can't quite remember. i hope that i don't do anything to hurt them, i have come to trust these people for being kind to me. and for allowing me their company...

*Nods and smiles a thanks. Cass creeps into the carts and before she knows it she is asleep. But she does not sleep soundly she has troubling dreams that she is unable to recall at mornings light.*
